"First images from outside the Philippines Senate were seen on Wednesday following reports of gunshots - as it was revealed that Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) was holed up inside. The exact nature of the gunfire and any casualties was not clear. Footage shows riots police as well as crowds and media outside the gates. Rosa, police chief during ex-president Rodrigo Duterte's 'war on drugs', earlier called on Filipinos to stop him being detained by the authorities. He is wanted in connection with the killings of thousands of alleged drug dealers during the crackdown 2011-2019. Duterte himself is set to stand trial at The Hague."
