Currency smuggler held

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man attempting to smuggle over 52 million rupees across the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman, in an operation conducted on the directions of the Director, FIA Balochistan Zone. According to the details, the FIA team intercepted the accused, identified as Gulalai son of Abdullah Jan, a resident of Chaman, while he was attempting to illegally move a large sum of currency across the border. Following due identification and a personal search, the FIA team recovered cash amounting to Rs. 52,529,000 along with a mobile phone from his possession. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
