CEBU CITY, Philippines —The Visayas grid will remain under red and yellow alert status on Thursday, May 14, due to insufficient power supply and multiple plant outages across the region, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced. In an advisory issued at 8 a.m. on Thursday, NGCP said a red alert would be enforced from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Available electricity supply might not be enough to meet consumer demand and the grid’s regulating requirements, they added.
