The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) posted a gross collection of P422.378 billion in April 2026, exceeding the month’s goal by P12.776 billion or 3.12%. Based on preliminary data as of May 13, 2026, last month’s gross revenues likewise grew by P551.11 million or 0.13% compared to the same month last year. This strong April performance came even with the moved deadline for filing the 2025 Annual Income Tax Returns (AITR), which President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered to give taxpayers more time to file properly and submit the required documents without penalties.
