"Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Thursday said the country may need to act ‘soon’ against Iran for the 'fulfilment of objectives,' adding it is prepared for every possibility. "Iran has suffered very severe blows in the past year, blows that have set it back years in all areas," he said during an address in Jerusalem. He claimed Israel and the US had ‘thwarted the main enemy’ by killing late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28, which started a weeks-long conflict in the Middle East, engulfing the wider region. "Our mission is not over. We must complete the campaign in a way that ensures Iran does not return to being a threat to the existence of the State of Israel, to the forces of the United States, and to the entire free world," the minister warned. "We are prepared for the possibility that we will soon need to act again, to ensure the fulfilment of these objectives," he added. This comes as the US and Iran have exchanged multiple proposals through Pakistan to strike an agreement to end the conflict. Before heading to China, US President Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s latest proposal, calling it 'totally unacceptable' and 'garbage', and warned that the ceasefire was on 'life support'. Meanwhile, Israel and Lebanon are expected to hold a new round of peace talks in Washington starting Thursday, as the current ceasefire nears its end."
