Getty Michelle Dockery, best known for her role as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey , has welcomed her first child with husband Jasper Waller-Bridge. The 44-year-old kept the happy news under wraps for four months, her friend told the Daily Mail. “She and Jasper are thrilled, and they are loving being parents. She gave birth around four months ago, and life is really good for her after the horrid heartache she has been through,” the source said. Michelle Dockery revealed her pregnancy in September of last year during the premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in London. She and her director husband began dating in 2019 and married in the fall of 2023 in a private, star-studded affair in London. The wedding was attended by Jasper’s sister, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and several of Dockery’s Downton Abbey co-stars, including Laura Carmichael, who served as a bridesmaid. Dockery and Waller-Bridge first connected four years after the death of Dockery’s fiancé, John Dineen, who died in 2015 after battling a rare form of cancer.
