Dangerous heat index forecast in 46 areas on Friday

MANILA, Philippines — Forty-six areas across the country are forecast to experience dangerous heat indices on Friday, May 15, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. Heat index is the “apparent temperature” when relative humidity is factored into the air temperature, decreasing the body’s ability to cool itself. A heat index ranging from 42 to 51°C falls under the danger category.
