LUCENA CITY — After emitting lower levels of sulfur dioxide (SO2) over the past two weeks, Taal Volcano in Batangas again released a high volume of toxic gas, according to state volcanologists. A total of 1,633 metric tons (MT) of sulfur dioxide from Taal Volcano’s main crater was recorded in the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported in its Friday morning bulletin.
