Best buds - Trump praises 'most beautiful roses I've ever seen' as Xi agrees to send him some special seeds... and ANOTHER handshake battle!

"Xi Jinping was seen showing Donald Trump the beautiful gardens in his residence of Zhongnanhai on the second day of the landmark visit on Friday. Footage shows them touring the grounds - and having another handshake, similar to Thursday's welcome, which sees Trump trying to pull Xi's hand towards himself, and Xi calmly moving their hands back towards him, reasserting himself and clearly having none of it! Trump was quoted as say: "These are the most beautiful roses anyone's ever seen ! I asked the President: 'Could you get me some for the rose garden, and he said yes. I've never seen roses so big!" Xi is said to have replied that he would "provide the president with some of our Chinese rose (Rosa chinensis) seeds, as he wants to plant some in the rose garden." It included a second round of talks - a more personal head-to-head than Thursday's meeting with their delegations. On Thursday, Trump was treated to an official welcome in Beijing and the two held expanded talks. Xi warned that mishandling Taiwan could push the two countries towards 'clashes and even conflicts.' He also cautioned against the 'Thucydides Trap'. It refers to when a rising power - Athens in ancient Greece- clashes with an established one - Sparta - apparently referencing the rise of China and potentially conflicts with the US.  At the state banquet the Chinese leader called on the US not to 'mess up' their relationship. Trump also risked insulting his hosts by telling them 'American travellers to China helped spread literacy and modern medicine' - although did thank Xi effusively for the visit and invited him for a return trip on September 24 this year. Trump is expected to head directly from Zhongnanhai to Beijing Capital International Airport for a formal departure ceremony, before boarding Air Force One for DC. "
