MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman will conduct its own investigation on the shooting incident inside the Senate last May 13, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Friday. Remulla said the separate investigation would allay public fears of a whitewashing of the incident. “We’re in the process of forming a panel. That will be complete by the end of the day, so we could issue subpoenas for next week,” Remulla said in a mix of English and Filipino in a press conference.
