Our top story: The NBI considers Senator Robin Padilla as a person of interest in the disappearance of Senator Bato Dela Rosa. Padilla reportedly accompanied Dela Rosa, who left the Senate premises early Wednesday morning. This happened hours after chaos erupted inside the Senate building when gunshots were heard. NBI Director Melvin Matibag said Padilla should be among the first to explain the circumstances surrounding Dela Rosa’s departure from the Senate complex. The NBI chief did not say whether subpoenas or invitations would be issued to Padilla or other Senate officials. He said authorities were still trying to find out how Dela Rosa managed to leave the premises and where he went afterward. The head of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association is calling on its members to remain calm and non-partisan. This came amid tensions over the arrest warrant for Senator Bato Dela Rosa from the International Criminal Court. Dela Rosa belongs to the PMA Sinagtala Class of 1986. He earlier called on his fellow PMAers for support. At least 78 members of Sinagtala Class of 1986 expressed their support for Dela Rosa. The academy’s alumni association president, Ricardo David, recognized that its members may have differing views. But he reminded them to avoid divisive rhetoric. This was disclosed by Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac. These are the Filipinos who are already in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The remaining 17 who are still on board the sea vessel will arrive in the Dutch city next week. They will also be subjected to testing and observation. Colombian music superstar Shakira and Afrobeats icon Burna Boy have teamed up for the official song of the 2026 Football World Cup. The song is “Dai Dai” — an Italian expression for “Let’s Go!” Shakira is no stranger to World Cup anthems. Her song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” was the official song of the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa. This year’s World Cup is co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico and runs through June and July.
