"Donald Trump denied that there was a 'risk of conflict' with China over Taiwan as he spoke with the press pack aboard Air Force One on the flight home on Friday. "No, no, I don't think so. During Trump's visit to Beijing, Xi warned that mishandling Taiwan could push the two countries towards 'clashes and even conflicts.' He also cautioned against the 'Thucydides Trap'. It refers to when a rising power - Athens in ancient Greece- clashes with an established one - Sparta - apparently referencing the rise of China and potential conflicts with the US.  The trip was the first by a US president since 2017 - when Trump visited during his first term."
