Vietnam child abuse cases rise 5% in Q1-2026, most involving sexual abuse

Vietnamese authorities launched investigations into 518 child abuse cases involving 535 victims in the first quarter of 2026, up 5.1 percent from a year earlier, with sexual abuse accounting for about 89 percent of cases, a health ministry official said on Thursday.
