Dizengoff disaster - At least 11 injured after bus ploughs into electricity pole in Tel Aviv

"At least 11 people were injured after a bus crashed into a tree and an electric pole on Dizengoff Street in central Tel Aviv on Monday night, cutting power in the area. Footage shows a large emergency response at the scene, with rescue workers and police investigating the crash site. Workers are also seen repairing the damaged pole to restore electricity. "I first of all heard a very big noise in my apartment, and then I went down to see what happened, because, you know, I was very scared. We had no shelter at all in the building, so I wondered if I had to go to another shelter. And then I saw that," said one local eyewitness. “A very big tragedy. One bus tried to take over another one and then it went into the building [...] And since then, it’s about five hours we have no electricity,” she added. Among the injured were an 11-year-old girl in critical condition, a 49-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man in serious condition, a 39-year-old man in moderate condition, and seven others with light injuries. Medics treated the wounded at the scene before evacuating them to Wolfson Medical Center and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Magen David Adom said the injured included both pedestrians and bus passengers."
