Digital senior citizens ID must be honored, establishments told

MANILA, Philippines — Senior citizens presenting their digital National Senior Citizens IDs (NSCIDs) should still receive discounts, Value-Added Tax (VAT) exemptions, and other privileges, according to the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC). The agency on Monday called on business establishments and offices to recognize and accept digital NSCID in all transactions, urging them to “strengthen awareness and compliance to prevent inconvenience and discrimination against older Filipinos.” NCSC Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Ma.
