UK regulator monitoring Air India compliance after Dreamliner fuel-switch incident

NEW DELHI: Britain’s civil aviation regulator said on Tuesday it was closely monitoring Air India’s compliance with its processes, months after the authority asked the airline to explain how a Boeing Dreamliner jet took off from London with a possibly faulty fuel switch. The statement was in response to queries on a Reuters report that said Indian air safety officials plan to travel to Seattle to observe Boeing’s testing of the fuel switch panel. Air India records annual loss above $2 billion, shareholder results show “We are continuing our review as part of our ongoing regulatory process in accordance with Third Country Operator regulations,” the UK Civil Aviation Authority said. “The UK Civil Aviation Authority is closely monitoring Air India’s adherence to its processes,” it added.
