Olango Island project yields 500 kilos of bangus in 15 months

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu – Participants harvested nearly 500 kilos of bangus (milkfish) from an aquaculture project in Barangay San Vicente, Olango Island in Lapu-Lapu City. The project started on February 1, 2026, with 6,000 bangus fingerlings that the Lapu-Lapu City Government and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided. An initial harvest on May 17, 2026 yielded 240 kilos, followed by 252 kilos harvested on May 18. Another batch is expected to be harvested next week.
