Army slams ‘fact fighting mission’ report as communist terrorist propaganda

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army on Tuesday slammed the "National Fact-Finding and Solidarity Mission" labeling it as merely a cheap worn-out propaganda out of sheer desperation to change the narratives of their defeat. “The result of the "National Fact-Finding and Solidarity Mission" is nothing more than a time-worn propaganda peddled by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to cover-up their irreversible defeat,” Col. Louie Dema-ala, spokesman of the Philippine Army said in a statement. The Army had two recent operations in Toboso and Cauayan, Negros Occidental. Both operations delivered significant blows to the struggling remnants of the New People’s Army who, the Philippine Army said, are still clinging on to their former strongholds in a desperate bid to still show influence. “We challenge these groups to answer one critical question they have been evading for so long: Why do your members consistently end up in combat zones, wielding firearms against government forces?” Dema-ala said. The Philippine Army has been greatly criticized in both operations as several sectors claimed civilian victims which the military has repeatedly debunked. “The Toboso and Cauayan encounters expose the CTG's pattern of deception that ultimately results in the tragic demise of their members. We emphasize that beyond the body count lies a greater tragedy: the CTG's terror-grooming scheme robs the deceived students of the chance to abandon the armed struggle and build peaceful, productive lives,” Dema-ala.
