Malaysia condemns IDF 'abducting' 40 Global Nusantara 2.0 mission ships with 350 humanitarian activists on board

"Malaysian organisers of the Sumud Nusantara 2.0 solidarity mission condemned the interception of Gaza-bound flotilla vessels after activists from dozens of countries were reportedly detained during an operation that Israel said was aimed at enforcing its naval blockade on Gaza. Speaking from Selangor on Tuesday, Director General of the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) Dato' Sani Araby Dato' Abdul Alim Araby announced acquiring visual reports showing activists being forcibly removed from vessels. "SNCC confirmed that as of 7 p.m. Malaysia time today, a total of 40 flotilla ships carrying nearly 350 humanitarian activists had been intercepted and boarded," he said. "Until now, SNCC has yet to receive confirmation regarding where the detained activists are being taken." SNCC chief condemned the interceptions as violations of international law and said diplomatic efforts involving several countries were underway to secure the release of detained activists. According to the Global Sumud Flotilla, dozens of boats were intercepted throughout Monday. The flotilla reportedly included nearly 500 activists from 45 countries. The latest operation follows an earlier interception on April 30, when Israeli forces stopped more than 20 boats linked to the same initiative near Greece and detained around 175 activists before later deportations. Attempts by international flotillas to reach Gaza have repeatedly triggered confrontations at sea, with organisers describing the missions as humanitarian efforts aimed at challenging the blockade, while Israeli authorities argue the naval restrictions are necessary for security reasons."
