'You will not take me out!' - Netanyahu warns 'our enemies want to invade' during Jordan border troop visit

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited military positions along Israel’s eastern border on Wednesday, where he met with active-duty and reserve soldiers and reviewed upgraded defence infrastructure aimed at strengthening border security. Speaking to soldiers on the ground, Netanyahu emphasised the security challenges facing Israel and the role of the military in preventing potential incursions. "We take into account that our enemies want to invade the State of Israel. I was impressed by the new tools and capabilities, but above all, I am impressed by you," he said. During the visit, the prime minister was briefed by senior commanders, including representatives of Division 96 and the deputy chief of staff, on operational readiness and technological upgrades in the sector. Netanyahu also met with troops stationed at forward positions and praised their role in defending the border. "I am very impressed by the work you are doing here. Which is very important for defending the eastern border. […] I want to tell you that the entire people of Israel trust you, and I salute you. Well done to all of you," he said. The visit focused on newly refurbished outposts along the so-called 'waterline' positions, as well as ongoing construction of a security barrier and deployment of advanced surveillance and defence systems. The visit took place alongside Defenсe Minister Israel Katz and senior military officials. The eastern frontier, which runs along the Jordan Valley and borders Jordan, as well as approaches linked to Iraq and Syria, has in recent years been described by Israeli security officials as a sensitive corridor for potential infiltration, smuggling routes and the movement of armed groups."
