DENR shuts Quezon resort for encroaching into protected land

LUCENA CITY, QUEZON, Philippines — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has ordered a resort in Infanta, Quezon to stop operations over the alleged construction of structures inside a protected national park, wildlife sanctuary, and game preserve. In a report released Wednesday, May 20, the DENR Regional Office IV-A said personnel from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) in neighboring Real town, assisted by police and Army personnel, served and enforced a cease-and-desist order (CDO) against the unnamed resort.
