MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman’s investigations into Sen. Chiz Escudero and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez are now in the preliminary stage, Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano said on Thursday. Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla previously said plunder cases would be filed against Escudero and Romualdez this month. The former speaker is also facing a money laundering complaint.
