"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Rome on Tuesday, the last leg of his five-nation diplomatic tour. Footage shows the excited Indian diaspora chanting as Modi meets his supporters. A troupe can also be seen performing a traditional dance. Modi was also accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at Villa Doria Pamphili, where he and his Italian counterpart, Giorgia Meloni, planted a mulberry tree in the garden. The visit also featured a dinner, a city drive, and a visit to the iconic Colosseum with Meloni. Both countries pledged to elevate ties to a "special strategic partnership" and affirmed plans to boost bilateral trade to €20 billion by 2029. Modi's five-nation diplomatic tour from May 15 to 20 covered the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. The trip aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships, trade, energy security, and technology cooperation across the Gulf and Europe."
