The Vienna North Bridge will undergo a general renovation in the coming years. The highway connection, which is used by around 110,000 vehicles daily, will not be completely closed. Instead, part of the traffic will be diverted over the adjacent Steinitzsteg, which is currently reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. The latter will have to temporarily switch to the Floridsdorfer Bridge, with new bike paths intended to ease the detour.
