"Soldiers from Russia's Africa Corps were seen treating a young girl for her injuries on Tuesday, after her village was attacked by militant fighters. Footage shows a medical specialist tending to the girl’s hand and applying a bandage. The Africa Corps reported that allied patrols from its forces and the Malian army learned about the attack from local residents - with the assault believed to be carried out by the Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) group. According to the latest reports, the situation in Mali remains stable and under control of the allied forces, with efforts underway to identify and dismantle militant training camps and routes. In late April, the Africa Corps helped foil an attempt coup in Mali by armed groups linked to JNIM and the Azawad Liberation Front. Mali's President Assimi Goita described the armed clashes as part of a 'broader destabilisation plan,' designed and carried out by "terrorist armed groups, with internal and external sponsors providing them with intelligence and logistical support." The attacks saw Malian Defence Minister Sadio Camara killed by a suicide bomb, and another 16 people injured. The country's authorities condemned the acts as 'cowardly terrorist attacks' and promised to bring those responsible to justice, urging citizens to remain vigilant and to rely on official sources of information. Mali has been facing instability caused by the activities of jihadist and separatist groups, with attacks reportedly regularly carried out on both military targets and civilian infrastructure. "
