Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Thursday, snapping a six-session losing streak, lifted by broad-based sectoral gains led by healthcare, energy and information technology stocks. The CSE All Share index settled up 0.21% at 21,833.77. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC were the top percentage gainers on the index, rising 20% and 10.87%, respectively. Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 76.6 million shares from 175.7 million in the previous session, according to exchange data. The equity market’s turnover fell to 2.16 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6.4 million) from 3.80 billion rupees in the previous session. Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 16.4 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 2.14 billion rupees, the data showed.
