S&P/TSX composite up nearly 100 points as oil tops US$100 a barrel

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index was up nearly 100 points in late-morning trading, helped by strength in the energy sector as the price of oil once again topped US$100 per barrel. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 95.38 points at 34,257.20.
