MANILA, Philippines — A Forest Dragon was documented in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, during a recent flora and fauna assessment in Barangay Hinalaan, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Community Environment and Natural Resources Office said. The CENRO Kalamansig identified the reptile as Gonocephalus cf. interruptus, an arboreal and diurnal lizard that usually thrives on tree trunks and near forest streams. Wildlife experts said the harmless insectivore uses its distinct head crests and color-changing camouflage to blend into its surroundings.
