"White lotus season began at Tinh Tam, or Serene Lake, inside Hue Imperial City, drawing visitors and residents to one of the former imperial capital's most picturesque spots. Footage filmed on Saturday shows tourists posing on a bridge and beside the pond, where white blossoms and broad green leaves cover the water and create a vivid landscape. Locals were also seen gathering along the shore, relaxing and drinking tea as the lotus flowers bloomed across the lake. "The lotus flower symbolises the purity, innocence, and serenity of Hue women. Therefore, anyone who comes to Hue should take photos and enjoy the pure beauty of the lotus flowers at Tinh Tam Lake," one tourist shared. "Many people come here to do some exercises to start the day with more energy. At that time, Tinh Tam Lake will provide them with another source of energy: the pure, sweet, and distinctly traditional fragrance of Hue," added another, further urging conservation efforts to uphold Hue's cultural heritage. Once regarded by the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century as one of the 'Twenty Finest Landscapes of the Imperial Land,' Tinh Tam Lake is historically renowned for its distinct architectural design and its white lotuses. During the imperial era, these specific flowers were meticulously cultivated under royal supervision to be selected as exclusive offerings to the court and to scent the Emperor's tea. After nearly disappearing several decades ago, the flowers have been restored through conservation efforts and now return each April, attracting visitors and locals alike."
