(UPDATED) MANILA, Philippines—Fire hit a a residential area in Tondo, Manila on Saturday afternoon, reaching the fourth alarm. According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MDRRMD), the incident happened at around 3 p.m. Firefighters, along with the Philippine Red Cross, continue to respond to the scene to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of residents. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, another fire hits Manila on Saturday evening, this time in Intramuros. This comes after a separate fire incident was reported in Binondo, Manila in the afternoon, where authorities raised the alarm to Task Force Charlie. According to reports, the Intramuros fire was first identified at 8:39 p.m. It was then raised to first alarm 5 minutes later, and the second alarm by 8:51 p.m. Authorities are currently responding to extinguish both fires.
