BAGUIO CITY — The Benguet State University College of Information Sciences Student Government joined nationwide calls opposing the appointment of Sen. Joel Villanueva as chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education (CHTVE), saying students need leaders “rooted in accountability and service” amid worsening economic hardship. Villanueva was appointed CHTVE chair on May 18 following a major reorganization of the Senate’s leadership and committees.
