THE Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) announced the temporary closure of its main and extension offices nationwide on Wednesday, May 27, in observance of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice. The suspension of operations follows Proclamation 1264, which declares May 27 a regular holiday, one of the most significant Islamic holidays. In an advisory, the CFO said its main office in Pasay City, extension offices in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio and Davao, as well as airport desks located in Clark and Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1 and 3, will close for the duration of the holiday. Affected clients with confirmed appointments scheduled for May 27 via email or phone call to reschedule their transactions. The agency assured the public that regular office operations and services will resume on Thursday, May 28. Also, the CFO advised overseas-bound Filipinos and other clients to monitor official announcements and updates through its website and official social media pages to avoid inconvenience. The CFO is the government agency tasked with promoting and protecting the interests of Filipinos residing or migrating abroad. Its services include predeparture orientation seminars, counseling programs for emigrants and spouses of foreign nationals, and assistance for overseas Filipinos and their families.
