"The Kalashnikov Group presented an updated range of sniper rifles - the Chukavin sniper rifle, the folding-stock Dragunov sniper rifle (SVDS), the SV-98 sniper rifle and the 'KUB-10ME' long-range guided tactical munitions - in Moscow region on Friday. Footage shows shooters using the updated models in a firing range, demonstrating the weapons in live-fire exercises against targets. The Group's CEO Alan Lushnikov revealed that the rifles on display had been successfully tested in real combat conditions and were used, among other things, to counter UAVs. "These rifles are used to combat drones such as the 'Baba Yaga' or 'Vampire' - all of which are successfully engaged by the SVD [the Dragunov sniper rifle]. Of course, our volumes have increased significantly over the last few years," Lushnikov shared. "There is huge demand for all of this: both the Dragunov folding-stock rifle and the Chukavin rifle - you all know it - have gone into mass production. This year, orders have increased significantly again, because it is a very good rifle with improved accuracy and excellent ergonomics," he continued. He noted that the upgraded 'KUB-10ME' munition, in its export variant, had been developed using experience gained during combat operations in the conflict zone, adding that it had received the necessary permits and was being actively marketed to overseas customers. "All this is in high demand within the unmanned system technologies sector and at the tactical level - this is what we are working on for customers from all the armies of our partners," Lushnikov highlighted. "In addition, we have received export permits for the AK-12K and AK-15K - sub-compact versions, the latter with the 7.62mm export calibre. These are highly sought-after weapons, given the experience our assault troops have gained with the compact version of the AK-12K," he added. The Kalashnikov Group is one of Russia's largest manufacturers of small arms and precision weapons."
