'Uniting multiple peoples across the globe' - Casablanca hosts Russia-originated 'One Run' Half Marathon for first time in Morocco

"The historic Habous district of Casablanca hosted the internationally acclaimed 'One Run' Half Marathon for the first time in Morocco, attracting runners from all over the world. Footage shows athletes of all ages bracing for competition, with children’s races taking place before the main adult competitions. Scenes can be seen from the course and the medal ceremonies honouring the winners. "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the 'One Run' marathon initiative in Russia. Across Russia, the race is being held in 89 cities, with runners taking part from all regions of the country. This year, 38 countries have joined the event," 'One Run Morocco' race supervisor, Inina, said. She also described the competition as 'uniting multiple peoples across the globe', adding that it is considered 'the largest half marathon to start on the same day globally,' with 'participation spanning 38 countries and 89 Russian cities'. First place winner in the 21.1 km race, Mohammed Fouad Al-Yazmi, was absolutely thrilled to have won the race. "The race conditions were good and the course felt comfortable, thank God. The hard training with the team paid off. For me, it was a normal race, and I completed the half marathon in one hour and 6 minutes," the man continued. The One Run Half Marathon was first launched in Russia in 2017 and has since expanded to become an international sporting event, reaching countries such as China, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. This year, it will make its debut in Morocco, along with races in 38 other countries around the world."
