MANILA, Philippines — 2GO Group Inc. and SMX Convention Center have expanded their partnership to provide integrated logistics and transport solutions for exhibitors, event organizers, and corporate clients holding events across the country. In a statement released over the weekend, the companies said the collaboration would integrate 2GO’s logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and sea travel services into SMX Convention Center’s nationwide operations to improve cargo movement and event support services. The partnership covers SMX venues in Manila, Clark, Bacolod, Davao, SM Aura, and the newly opened SMX Seaside Cebu. Under the agreement, exhibitors from the Philippines and abroad will have access to end-to-end logistics support for transporting booth equipment, event materials, construction supplies, and other cargo needed for conventions, trade shows, and exhibitions. The companies said the setup would allow organizers and exhibitors to manage both cargo transport and personnel mobility through a single logistics provider. Walid Wafik, senior vice president for operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., said the growing number of on-ground events nationwide has increased demand for efficient logistics support. “Events today require speed, reliability, seamless coordination, and most importantly, convenience for exhibitors and organizers managing operations across different parts of the country,” Wafik said. “Through this collaboration with 2GO, we aim to elevate the exhibitor and organizer experience by providing more efficient logistics support and integrated services across our SMX venues nationwide,” he added. The collaboration is also expected to support logistics requirements for future SMX expansion and development projects nationwide. Will Howell, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the 2GO Group, said the partnership would help ensure the timely delivery of event materials and equipment while supporting the movement of personnel involved in staging large-scale events. “Through our end-to-end logistics capabilities and 2GO Travel services, we help move not only cargo, but also the people behind every successful event, forward,” Howell said. Both companies said they were pursuing a long-term collaboration aimed at streamlining exhibition logistics and strengthening support services for events held across SMX venues nationwide.
