MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the implementation of the expanded number coding scheme would be suspended across Metro Manila on Wednesday in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice. The MMDA said the suspension took effect during regular holidays and special non-working holidays. Under the expanded number coding scheme, vehicles with plate numbers ending in certain digits are barred from major roads in Metro Manila during designated weekday hours. Plate numbers ending in 5 and 6 are not allowed to travel every Wednesday. The agency advised motorists to plan their trips properly to avoid inconvenience, while also reminding drivers to follow traffic rules and observe road safety. Eid’l Adha is one of the major Islamic holidays observed by Muslims worldwide.
