MANILA, Philippines – The House prosecution team in Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial is enlisting independent financial experts to scrutinize her financial documents presented as evidence in the ouster case against her, Bicol Saro Rep. Terry Ridon said on Monday. Ridon, a member of the 11-man prosecution team, said they recruited auditors and accountants “to look into the documents we might miss out,” as allegations that Duterte amassed wealth beyond her declared income have raised red flags and were cited among the grounds for her impeachment. “We’re validating the numbers,” he told reporters.
