"Donald Trump appeared to go off script during his Memorial Day address on Monday - as he paid tribute to those 13 US soldiers killed during the latest Iran conflict, at his annual speech in Arlington, Virginia. "In two wars recently, we've lost a total of 13 service members in Venezuela, which was a complete and total victory," he claimed. "We're working very closely with the Venezuela government right now. We took that over, and one day, we lost no one." "In Operation Epic Fury, we lost 13 wonderful souls, wonderful, special people. These incredible men and women gave their lives to ensure that the world's number-one state sponsor of terror will never have a nuclear weapon. Oh, and they won't. They will never have a nuclear weapon. I'm sure you know that," he added. The United States and Israel launched joint attacks against Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with missile attacks on Israel and US assets in the region. A ceasefire came into effect last month, with talks ongoing between the US and Iran, with Pakistani mediation. Earlier Trump said he either wanted a 'great and meaningful' peace deal or 'no deal' - and also demanded that Arab nations sign up to his Abraham Accords normalisation agreements with Israel, adding that it 'should be mandatory'. "It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit. If they don't, they should not be part of this deal in that it shows bad intention," he added, and even suggested Iran itself could join: "Wow, now that would be something special". Those countries have not responded. On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei also said that there was 'no deal imminent' and that talks with the US were focused on 'ending the war' rather than the 'nuclear issue'. Trump has repeatedly insisted that Iran 'cannot have nuclear weapon', while Tehran has always said its nuclear programme is 'peaceful'. Memorial Day, held on the last Monday in May, commemorates those military personnel who lost their lives while serving. "
