"The Syrian city of Hasakah received a new batch of released detainees on Monday as part of an ongoing integration agreement between the transitional government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Footage shows buses carrying the freed individuals into Hasakah, where relatives swarmed public squares awaiting their arrival. Desperate for any word on their fate, some family members were seen hoisting photos of missing loved ones. Among those waiting was the sister of Farhan Mustafa Ali, who said her brother disappeared after being detained with 18 others on the Hasakah–Raqqa highway several months ago, since then, all contact with him was lost. Adnan Abdul Aleem, one of those released, said he had been detained nine months earlier at the Ghanem Al-Ali checkpoint in Raqqa before being transferred between several destinations. "I pray every prisoner is reunited with their loved ones unharmed. May God return every absent person to their family. Just as we were given joy on the Eve of Eid, hopefully, every detainee reunites with his family safely," he added. Syrian state news agency SANA quoted the Governor of Hasakah, Nour al-Din Ahmad, confirming that 88 detainees were freed on Monday under the supervision of the Syrian leadership. The governor stated that efforts to free the remaining prisoners are ongoing, adding that another group could be released today or tomorrow, with the ultimate goal of freeing all remaining detainees after Eid al-Adha. This follows an earlier release on 8 May, which saw 232 detainees captured during recent hostilities freed under successive exchange operations outlined in the 29 January accord. The release comes after a military campaign launched by the transitional government against the SDF earlier this year, during which government forces seized several areas in northeastern Syria, resulting in casualties and prisoners on both sides. Damascus and the SDF reached a comprehensive agreement on 30 January to integrate the civil and military institutions of the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration - including those in Kobane - into the transitional government's structures. The deal also guarantees the regularisation of the status of civil employees, protects Kurdish civil and educational rights, and facilitates the return of displaced residents to their homes."
