Bayern's Kane wins Golden Shoe award for 2nd time

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane has claimed another personal trophy as he has won the Golden Shoe award for the best scorer in Europe in the past season, Kicker sports magazine said, reported dpa. Kane topped the list with 72 points from 36 Bundesliga goals ahead of Manchester City's Erling Haaland who scored 27 Premier League goals for 54 points. Last year's winner Kylian Mbappe was third with 50 points from 27 goals for Real Madrid in La Liga. England captain Kane won the award from European Sports Media (ESM) for the second time, having also come first in 2024. He has been Bundesliga top scorer in all of his three seasons at Bayern. Players from the top five European leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France get two points for each goal because of the leagues' strengths. Only regualr season league matches count. Players from the leagues ranked 6-22 have each goal multiplied by 1.5 while those from leagues below that get one point per goal. The best ranked player from outside the top five leagues was Dion Drena Beljo from Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb in fourth place with 46.5 points from 31 goals.
