Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended Eidul Azha greetings to Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Babar and Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf, paying tribute to the armed forces for their sacrifices and commitment to national security. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier, during separate telephonic conversations with the services chiefs, praised the professional capabilities of the armed forces and acknowledged their services for the defence of the country. “The nation is proud of its brave soldiers and the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan,” the PM was quoted as saying. The prime minister also paid special tribute to officers and personnel performing duties on Eidul Azha, saying their dedication to safeguarding the homeland reflected the spirit of national service and sacrifice. PM Shehbaz prayed for the country’s security, progress and prosperity and conveyed his best wishes to the armed forces and their families on the occasion of Eid. The military leadership thanked the prime minister for his Eid greetings and extended prayers for peace, prosperity and happiness for the nation. The armed forces also reaffirmed their resolve to remain fully prepared for the defence and security of the country at all times, the PMO said. Earlier, the prime minister had also extended Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah, stressing that the spirit of sacrifice, unity and solidarity was essential for national cohesion and sustainable progress.
