"Burkina Faso's leader Ibrahim Traore joined Eid prayers in Ouagadoungou on Wendesday. Footage shows Traore during prayers with other worshippers. “The first message goes to our valiant fighting forces who are on the ground today and who are doing a remarkable and very efficient job in reclaiming the ground," Traore said. He also praised the internal security forces for working 'tirelessly' to ensure peace in the cities, allowing citizens to celebrate Eid. "Our main objective is our homeland, Burkina Faso," he stressed. "It is also to call upon all Burkinabe to remain focused on the common enemy. We must not, through the actions of some, distract our internal security forces and allow the enemy to achieve its objectives," he added. Security in Ouagadougou has been tightened in the wake of attacks in the neighbouring country Mali last month."
