Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist and Laboratory Manager at the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Odelia Tamakloe, has urged Ghanaians to embrace routine medical screening and preventive healthcare to reduce the growing burden of non-communicable diseases in the country. According to her, many people continue to live with serious health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes without knowing their status because they rarely visit health facilities for regular check-ups.
