Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication. If there’s one trend that’s defined the last few years, it’s the indomitable rise of matcha. While the green drink might not be for everyone, matcha has taken over the world so much that there are shortages across the world. The horrors! But it’s not a habit that’s good for your bank account. Every morning I walk past not one, not two, but three separate Blank Streets – and let me tell you, the temptation is real. Unfortunately for me, I can’t possibly afford to buy a matcha every time a craving hits me. So when the new Bird & Blend Matcha Whisk landed on my desk, I knew everything was about to change. My review of the Bird & Blend Matcha Latte Whisk Rating: 4.5/5 Originally launched in May 2025, Bird and Blend has just released a new colourway: soft lilac, which I much prefer to the original bamboo colour. Pros: Perfect matcha in seconds, It’s easy to set up, Doesn’t take up much room on the counter. Cons: You’ll need plenty of ice for an iced matcha as it comes out hot, Can’t wash it in the dishwasher (but it’s super easy to wash by hand). First impressions As my kitchen is entirely white, I love seeing the lilac pop in the corner, and every time I catch a glimpse of it, I suddenly crave a matcha. That brings us to the whole point – this whisk makes the best matcha I’ve ever managed to make myself at home, and one of the best I’ve had from a matcha shop, too. Working exactly like the Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser, it’s an electric whisk that can make hot or cold matcha lattes. Functionality Like other appliances I’ve tested, my main concern about this whisk was that it would be just another thing I use once before forgetting about it, only for it to take up space on my counter. Dear reader, I could not have been more wrong. Not only does it take seconds to set up, but thanks to the fact it’s so easy, anyone could use it (yes, even your technologically-challenged grandparents) I’ve found myself whisking up a drink almost every day. Depending on whether you want your matcha hot or cold, you’ll pour in 125ml or 250ml of milk (or oat mylk, if you’re anything like me) sprinkle in a half teaspoon of matcha, pop the lid on, and leave it to whir for a couple of minutes. Yep, that’s literally...it. Results I’m not exaggerating when I say the result is matcha the creamiest matcha you’ll ever taste. No foam, lumps, or bubbles, and it takes mere seconds. The most trying part of the whole process is remembering to have enough milk, ice, and matcha powder on hand. But to make sure you never run out of the latter, Bird & Blend is offering a Matcha Latte Lovers Subscription , which gives you 10% off the cost of the whisk and your choice of matcha for a two, four, or eight-week subscription. My personal fave is the Blueberry & Acai Matcha , just FYI. I’m pleased to say, it’s saved me a lot of money buying matcha out multiple times a week. Sorry, I don’t need it – I have matcha at home!
