"Emergency services workers were clearing rubble after Israeli airstrike hit residential building in the Al-Rayyan complex in the Choueifat area of Aley district in Mount Lebanon Governorate. Footage filmed on Thursday shows burnt and heavily damaged apartments inside a multi-storey residential building, with charred interiors, shattered walls, and debris scattered across the site. Damaged vehicles were also seen nearby, while Civil Defence workers and volunteers continued clearing rubble and securing the area. The Israeli army released a brief stating it had carried out a 'precise strike' in Beirut, while Israeli media reported that the raid targeted Ali al-Husseini, identified as a commander in Hezbollah's rocket unit. This marks the second reported strike in the southern Beirut area since the ceasefire announcement on April 17. Earlier on Wednesday, Lebanese Ministry of Health reported 3,269 people have been killed and 9,840 others wounded since the war began on March 2. On April 15, Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. The truce was later extended for three weeks following talks hosted by Washington, before another 45-day extension was announced in mid-May. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has designated what it calls the 'Yellow Line' in southern Lebanon, restricting residents from returning to certain areas under its control. This measure is part of a tactic previously used in the Gaza Strip, where it designates areas under its control within ceasefire agreements and prevents civilians from entering them. Israel has indicated it intends to establish a 'security zone' inside Lebanese territory stretching from the border to the Litani River, an area equivalent to around ten per cent of the country."
