CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Residents across Oriental Mindoro may experience additional rounds of rotational brownouts on Friday after the province’s power supply deficit widened to 21.87 megawatts (MW), according to a power advisory issued by the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Ormeco). Ormeco said electricity demand in the province reached 77.32 MW while the available supply remained at only 55.45 MW. This prompted the implementation of second-round or additional manual load dropping (MLD) operations throughout the day in affected areas.
