Makati rolls out P356M mid-year aid for seniors

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government on Friday announced the rollout of P356.48 million worth of mid-year cash incentives for more than 59,000 Blu Card holders, with qualified senior citizens starting to receive their P6,000 benefits through GCash. Mayor Nancy Binay said the city has allotted the funds for 59,414 registered Blu Card holders in Makati, including more than 8,000 senior citizens who will receive their incentives through manual payouts in designated village payout centers beginning June 3. Binay said digital payouts through GCash started on May 28, 2026 for senior citizens with registered and validated accounts. “We have made sure that no qualified beneficiary will be left out because of lack of access to an e-wallet. Everyone will receive their mid-year incentive, no one will be deprived. We know our senior citizens are expecting this, so it is only right that they receive the benefit allocated for them,” Binay said. The city government said onsite distribution for other qualified beneficiaries will run from June 3 to 10 across Makati’s 23 villages. Binay said the schedule for manual payouts has been posted on the city government’s official Facebook page, My Makati. The mayor said the city would continue offering alternative payout methods for residents who may have limited access to digital platforms, even as Makati expands the use of cashless disbursement systems. She also reminded Blu Card holders to ensure that their GCash accounts are active and properly registered to avoid delays in receiving the incentive. The city government said unclaimed incentives may still be claimed on June 11 and from June 15 to 18 at the Cash Division on the third floor of Makati City Hall Building 1. Binay said the city remained committed to providing timely assistance and accessible services for elderly residents, citing their contribution to Makati’s growth and development.
