Mina The Hollower is a game chock full of secrets, but perhaps the most surprising ones of the bunch are all the secret bosses tucked away via side quests or just hidden away. Heck, one of them even needs you to finish an entire collection of items before the way to the boss fight opens. Since this is an open-world game with many hidden paths, it’s understandable that you might miss some of the well-hidden optional secret bosses. From our count, there are nine that you could potentially miss running into, so we’ll list all nine in order of appearance, where to find them, and what you get for beating them. Midden is in the Ancestral Chamber in Queensbury Crypt. Midden You'll find this boss in Queensbury: Ancestral Chamber, behind a door that requires two Plasma Vials to open. Insult him to get him to fight you. He’s not all that tricky, and you can get the Fly Bait Trinket as a reward for beating him. You'll get a valuable Trinket Bag from beating Maxi. Maxi On the way back from Queensbury Crypt to Ossex after defeating the first dungeon, entering town through the right side will make Maxi appear and attack you. Our tip for this fight is to burrow often. Beating him will net you one of the Trinket Bags, which allow you to equip multiple Mina The Hollower Trinkets at once. Armand has some unique movements. Armand Attempt to buy a second item from Legovich in Ossex, and Armand will instead give his brother a letter refusing to work. Head down into the bottom area and beat him to restore the blacksmith to its usual operations. As a tip, you can burrow and lead the lava to his pathway. If he stands in lava, he takes the normal amount of damage from attacks as opposed to heavily resisting them if normal. Dugin resembles a small rabbit, at least initially. Dugin After returning from Queensbury Crypt, you’ll find two children called Ack and Dak in Ossex: High Street. Talk to them to learn about the mythical Dugin. You can help them fight what they think is Dugin, but the chance to see them is randomized. You can find them either in the Southern Outskirts near the man tanning himself, or in the area just before the start of Backwaters in Western Hills. Beat Dugin twice to get the reward, officially defeating the boss and obtaining the Lace Glove Trinket. Willis After beating the Nox Beast, while heading down through the shortcut, as you climb down the rope, head left through the waterfall and up to the exit in the top left. In this room, you'll find a frog in a bucket. Guide him through the obstacles and enemies as you go around back to the shortcut. If you lose the frog, it will reappear on the nearest shoreline. Continue through to the Backwater and in the large swamp area with moving platforms, hit the frog north, and reunite it with the rest of his band to get the Tumbling Tutu. Speak to the frog again and pay 100 Bones to fund their travel expenses to Ossex. Now head for the music hall in Ossex: Bowery, burrowing under the patrons entering to bypass the bouncer. Talk to the large pirate shark near the stage to start the boss fight. You'll need to attack to stun him long enough so you can throw him into the crowd to deal damage. Once defeated, Willis will give you the Pneumatic Armlet Trinket. Dark Deluxy can be quite rapid. Dark Deluxy To find this one, you need two Mina The Hollower Spark Containers . On the way back from the Windy Generator, you'll see a door with two Spark slots. Unlock it and escort Luxy back to the Windy Generator to trigger this boss fight. This one can cause a few issues for slower weapons, as Dark Deluxy is quite fast, but her movements can be predicted. Beat and then heal her with a spare Plasma Vial to get a Spark Container. This chilly ghost can clone herself. Mirren This ghost is sitting inside an abandoned carriage in Coltrane Peak: Frostbite Woods. From the Underlab here, head to the right under the ice to the next area. Dig under the ice and use the block with the skull floating above it to give the larger chunk time to recover. Once inside, talk to the ghost and try telling her you're there to help. She'll get angry and attack. Her most dangerous attack is to clone herself and dive across the screen. Focus on dodging and burrowing rather than attacking when this happens, and you should get the win. Defeat Mirren to get the Blinking Glass Trinket. Evra can grant you a Health Rose upon defeat. Evra Firstly, you'll need at least one decent traversal Mina The Hollower Sidearm (we recommend the Drill Driver), as well as Keri the Wisp sold in one of the Poppit shops , and the Brisk Brew. Go to the eastern part of the Courtyard, and where the woman with the bone head is, use a combination of Burrow Jump, hover, and Drill Driver to clear the gap. Use the pipe to unlock a shortcut back here later. Now equip your best combat Trinkets and use three Vials to open the gate to the right. Explore this mini-dungeon, and you'll find Evra in a grave. Her main attacks are to charge and fire a bunch of skeletons from her mouth, which will then attack or self-destruct in your vicinity. You’ll want to burrow often, getting out of the way of Evra’s massive undead steed or her skeletal friends. If you can whittle down the skeleton numbers, this gives you more places to dodge the mount’s immensely powerful body blows safely. Defeat her to get a Health Rose. You'll need the fishing rod before you'll encounter Thalassion. Thalassion After getting the fishing rod from Irwin and Durwin, catch all 15 fish in each area of the game, leaving one remaining in Backwater. Return to Irwin and Durwin's hangout with at least the Fishing Rod and Drill Driver Sidearms equipped (you can also use the raft instead of the Drill Driver). Head to the right of Durwin and your collection of fish, and make your way to the southeast corner of this area. Use your Fishing Rod on the slime above to climb the gap. Continue onward to the next area and kill the giant fish. This is easier said than done, particularly because of the rather small fighting arena. Choose when to hit the boss carefully and be conservative when it comes to the number of times you attack, as its waves and charging bite attacks will hurt a lot. It may take a few goes to beat the Thalassion, but once you do, talk to Irwin, then return to Durwin to get the final Fish part to complete the collection and get the Gilded Rod upgrade.
