NBI continues manhunt for dela Rosa, says no definite leads yet

MANILA, Philippines —The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Friday that it was continuing intelligence and operational efforts to locate Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, stressing that authorities have yet to establish any definite leads on his whereabouts. NBI Director Melvin Matibag, in a media briefing, said the bureau’s monitoring and tracking operations remained active across Luzon and other regions amid ongoing verification of reported sightings. “At this moment, we still have no definite leads as to his exact location,” Matibag said, adding that surveillance operations are continuing while all information is being validated. He also said that based on available immigration data, there is no indication that the senator has left the country. "According to our immigration records, there is no confirmation that he has exited the Philippines,” he said. Matibag said the NBI was maintaining coordination with other law enforcement agencies as part of efforts to monitor movements and support possible enforcement actions. "We are coordinating with other agencies to track any developments and possible movements,” he said. He added that the bureau has already put in place procedures for possible surrender or arrest scenarios, including detention and processing protocols should an arrest order be implemented. "We are prepared for the necessary procedures in case of surrender or arrest,” he said. The NBI chief also noted that the agency continued to receive and validate information from informants and social media reports as part of its ongoing intelligence work. “We continue to verify information coming from informants and social media while our surveillance operations remain active,” he said.
