Jamaican institutions and scholars will receive £450,000 ($91 million) under a wider £1 million ($203 million) grant from the UK-based Lloyd’s Register Foundation to advance research into the history of transatlantic slavery. The funding, announced on Wednesday at the British High Commission in Kingston, forms part of the PASSAGE International Research Mobility Programme.
